Who
will fly?
Principal McCowan, Mrs. Saffiote, Kathy Eckert or Dr. Obermeyer are all candidates to fly like Peter Pan. As many of you know the High School’s musical theater program is putting on the musical Peter Pan this year, and as a fundraiser they are holding a little contest to see how gets the most votes. If you want to vote you can go to a football game and other events and at lunch there is a table set up by the media center. It only costs a dollar per vote and you have until January to pitch in and make sure you get the person you want to fly. So far Mr. McCowan is in the lead so make your vote ASAP! I’ll keep you updated on the poles and show dates, this is a show that you won’t want to miss!
SPORTS Update!
OK, so as many of you high schoolers know is that fall sports are wrapping up and winter sports are just around the bend. We have basketball (both genders), soccer (also both genders) and wrestling (again both genders, but typically males) check with Mr. Cunningham in the front office if you have any questions. Tryouts for all of these sports are coming up in the next couple weeks, and make sure that you’ve taken you physical, because you need one for any school sport.
Here’s something I betcha didn’t know:
A Tuna Christmas is to be performed mid-November in the High School’s drama class (enter through the gymnasiums lobby). The show is a two man cast starring Marc Wasserman and Craig Fowler. The show is about two men who live in Texas’s third smallest city, they return to Tuna, with every one of their 22 personas in tow. The show is holiday themed and very funny, but PG so you probably wouldn’t want to bring your 6 year olds to the show, if they’re younger it doesn’t really matter because they probably won’t get the jokes anyway.
The show dates are November 16, 17, & 18 at 7p.m. and then two matinees on Nov. 18 & 19 at 2p.m. To purchase tickets stop by the Country Junction Deli or call (858) 361-0708. Hope to see you there!
